Ryanair to Speed up Booking with New App

RyanAir has never been known to focus on the customer but within the last two years the CEO has stood behind his promise to improve customer relations between his airline and the passengers that fly Ryanair. 

Michael O’Leary has been very vocal about his program “Always Getting Better” and despite low expectations they have been improving. Customers are happier to fly with Ryanair and combined with their exceptionally low prices, there are fewer complaints compared to the past. To continue with the idea they are “always getting better” the airline is rolling out an app called myRyanair.

They hope to ‘disrupt and transform the aviation industry’ by becoming a digital travel company with pioneering, customer focused technology’. They plan to do so with the app that works similarly to Amazon, the customer can create a profile, saving their payments methods, and profile. Keeping details such as seat preferences when booking, and offering additional services such as car hire, hotel bookings, and linking customers with other passengers to share a taxi from the airport. 

With these improvements, they claim bookings will be 20% faster and at peak booking times, they can fill four Boeing 737s at every minute. Anyone who knows Ryanair’s current booking process can appreciate the increase in speed, especially with your personal preferences already provided. 

As we continue to use more technology, Ryanair must be applauded for their forward thinking vision. Despite being a huge airline, they are trying to keep their focus on what customers want thus making them happy. This in turn, will continue to patron Ryanair over other airlines. It appears; they are right on track to become the UK’s number one low cost airline.
