Ryanair Gives Passengers an App to Vent

Ryanair’s resolve to charm passengers and increase customer satisfaction whilst keeping fares low has manifested with their latest venture, an app. The app called Rate My Flight is to serve as a means to gripe and vent for RyanAir passengers. 

This is part three of RyanAir’s Always Getting Better program. This is a total turnaround for the company’s CEO Michael O’Leary, who once said passengers were stupid for failing to print out their boarding passes before any pending flights. 

The app will ping the customer as they land and will ask them questions regarding the service, flight, drinks, and food, boarding, etc. This will also provide much needed customer feedback for the company and they will be able to better focus their efforts to improve services. 

With their current numbers, and an increase in passenger again over the last quarter, the airline is set to overtake EasyJet, who are currently the number one discount airline in Europe. 

With 92% load levels, RyanAir is running mostly full flights for most of their routes. That is a phenomenal number for them to maintain. They seem to have found the sweet spot for keeping fares low, whilst also maintaining a fairly loyal customer base. 

With their eyes on the future and looking at business customers, and the opportunity to upgrade their services, it looks like the airline might be able to entice these customers, especially if they continue their efforts to keep their current customers happy.
