Norwegian Air Defies Brexit Fears with Low cost Flights and Expansion Plans

There is all this talk about Brexit being a huge concern for airlines as it may affect the price of flights. With the open skies policy over Europe and the proliferation of flights, and the continuing dropping of prices has made budget airlines the new way to travel, and today, more people than ever are traveling.

Norwegian Air has proven that an airline can access the same low prices without having to be part of the EU. They are not part of the EU and yet thy have managed to secure low price flights, and their flights include those across the Atlantic.

With their new ambient light, a la carte menu, and the lower price on fuel, the airline is showing the bigger companies how it’s done. They’ve also started the process of adding 50 new Dreamliners to their fleet and these are set to be delivered by 2018, the airliner doesn’t seem to be concerned with whether or not they will be able to keep their prices low.

So if the UK were to exit the EU, the chairman of Norwegian Airlines, Boris Kjos, says he doesn’t think there should be a massive drop. After all, if his company can keep their prices low, why shouldn’t the others be able to as well? As we get closer to the time for the UK to vote, we will se whether or not the arguments begin to heat up and we’ll be able to get a better sense of which way the wind is blowing.
