Parking Firm Fined For Posting False Claims  about Gatwick

EPS parking limited, a parking firm that had earlier on insinuated that Gatwick airport had approved of its operations at the Airport has been taken to court and fined. The firm missed the hearing in court at Crawley and was found guilty of breaching the unfair trading regulation act 2008.  This is because their claim of their services being approved by The London airport was false. The parking firm declared this claims on their website, where they stated that they were an approved operator of the county council trading standards scheme.

During the hearing, the county council trading standards was present. The case was heard and the court directed for investigations to be carried out before a ruling is made. There had been complaints about the firm from its customers. Buy with confidence, a scheme which the company was a member confirmed that they had removed it. The scheme said that the parking firm had no business still advertising while they were removed from the scheme. The scheme added that all the companies in its scheme were reputable since they were thoroughly vetted before they join it.

The company had also made false claims that it was a British parking association. In total the company was found with five offences and the magistrate ordered they pay £2000 for each offence. They will pay a total of £10,000 for the false claims.

This comes at a time where British Airways had launched six new routes from Gatwick airport. This is the largest expansion that has been done in the London airport in recent years. Though the routes are expected to begin next year, the airline has announced the destinations it will be covering in its expansion. The new routes are flights to Turkey, Bodrum, Dalaman, Sardinia and Rhodes.  However flights from Edinburg to Ibiza will begin in summer, this year.
